1. File format
2. Page setup and margins
-
The file must contain consecutive single pages (not spreads).
-
We recommend not using inner bleed on the spine side.
-
Keep text and important elements at least: 5 mm from trim edges and 10 mm from the spine side.
-
We recommend an inner margin of at least 10 mm to prevent text from falling into the fold area.
Detailed requirements for specific binding types
Perfect bound binding (paperback or hardcover)
-
The total page count must be even.
-
If an odd number of pages is supplied, a blank page will be added at the end of the book block.
Sewn hardcover binding
-
The total page count must be divisible by 4. Otherwise, blank pages will be added at the end of the book block.
Booklet binding
-
The total page count must be divisible by 4. Otherwise, blank pages will be added at the end of the book block.
-
Maximum page count: 96. Maximum spine thickness: 5 mm.
-
Important: If the publication exceeds 96 pages, we recommend changing the binding type to perfect bound. Very thick booklet bindings may create a “page creep” effect, where the inner pages extend beyond the outer pages. This negatively affects the appearance of the publication and requires excessive trimming of the book block.
